The Franklin Police History Book #3

The City of Franklin , Tennessee - Kat here , do you remember waaay back when , in the good ole days of using leaded gasoline in your car ? Well , if you can't remember that far back , do you remember what you ate for breakfast this morning ?

Anyway , the change came along to unleaded gasoline with the invention of the catalytic converter. Boy-O-Boy what an uproar that created. Those converters would clog after several miles and people were doing whatever they could to get around all that other emission garbage that didn't work either. And then along came those brave muffler shops that would save your car by altering your car's exhaust system and totally remove the catalytic converter all together. And following them was the law , yes , along came the law , that really long arm of the law.

The law went on the prowl and fined anyone 50,000$ dollars plus the lose of their business when found removing those converters. Meanwhile , right here in this good ole boy town of Franklin , The Franklin Police Department was busy removing those troublesome , no good for nothing converters because the law did not apply to them. Yep , the police were using leaded gas and their engines didn't have those insufferable pinging noises under the hood either.

I'll bet you didn't know that did you ?
